Official documents about the burials of executed victims on the grounds of the Kalitnikovskoe Cemetery have not been published. However, according to existing evidence, the bodies of executed victims were occasionally buried there at the beginning of the 1930s. Petr Nesterenko was the head of Moscow Crematory No. 1 (Donskoi) where victims' bodies were cremated. He gave detailed evidence about the burials. In 1941, Nesterenko himself was arrested and executed, but during his interrogations he substantiated the burials in the Kalitnikovskoe Cemetery.
