On June 4, 1978, a demonstration by Jewish refuseniks took place on Trubnaya Square. Ten people attended the demonstration, holding posters bearing slogans such as “Visas to Israel!”, “Let people go to Israel or put them into coffins!", “Release the children!", and “The Jews will survive!” After a few minutes the protesters were arrested and taken to police station No. 18. All of them were released after three hours.
